It's not as hot as it was a couple of years ago. The oil downturn hit hard

Still plenty of good work to be had and the downturn brought costs down a bit living wise. Biggest issue is that almost all the work is blue collar/high OT. All the white collar stuff is being run from Houston or Tulsa unless absolutely required to be local. Cheaper to fly people in and out than pay them a living allowance or local market wages.
